   Hallo, bei mir wird nur 800x600 angezeigt. dann versuchte ich es in den kde, resp. gnome-einstellungen und da hatte ich nur 800x600 und irgendwas kleineres zur auswahl.
   
   Jetzt logischerweise die Frage: was muss ich tun um eine 1400er aufl?sung zu bekommen?

   bekommst du aus deinem Monitor-Handbuch, bei den technischen Daten.
   
   Unter Section "Screen"
   kannst du die Einstellungen vornehmen!
   
   DefaultDepth 24
   entspricht der Standard-Farbtiefe: muss an den Monitor angepasst werden...

   Modes "1024x768"

   zum Beispiel hast du bei einer Farbtiefe von 24bit eine Aufl?sung von 1024x768.
   Da gibt es ja 4 Einstellungen...
   Bei bestimmten Farbtiefen kann er nur bestimmte Aufl?sungen fahren. Kennst sicher von Windows her...
   Das kann man hier auch einstellen!
   
   Also dass er bei 8bit nur 800x600 f?hrt und bei 24bit 1280x1024.
   Einfach ausprobieren. Und nat?rlich ein Backup der Datei machen...
   Dann kann eigentlich nichts schiefgehen!
